Background

Circle
CD74 is a membrane binding subunit of the class II related invariant chain of the major histocompatibility complex. CD74 is mainly used to label lymphocytes in germinal center and in the mantle cell area of lymph nodes. This antibody does not label plasma cells or thymocytes, but usually labels dendritic cells. About 90% of low-grade B-cell lymphoma and 20% of low-grade T-cell lymphoma are expressing CD74, but in high-grade lymphoma, the ability to distinguish B cells from T cells is decreased.
