CD99, a product of MIC2 gene, is a 32 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein formed by glycosylation of 30 kDa precursor molecules, which is mainly expressed on immature lymphocytes (including thymic cortex cells). Sertoli cells of testis and granulosa cells of ovary. It is mainly used to differentiate Ewing's sarcoma, primitive neuroectodermal tumor and small round cell tumor in children.
